Undergraduate Students

After enrolling in the School of Engineering at the Institute of Science Tokyo, students are required to join the Department of Mechanical Engineering in their second year. Once joined, students focus on specialized subjects such as Mechanics of Materials and Fluid Dynamics. Subsequently, at the beginning of April in their fourth year, students are assigned to a specific laboratory to begin their research.

Master Students

To join our lab, you must pass the graduate school entrance examination for the Department of Mechanical Engineering, School of Engineering, at the Institute of Science Tokyo. The examinations are held annually between July and August. For international students, the International Graduate Program (C) [IGP (C)] is available for Autumn admission. If you are an international applicant seeking enrollment in the Autumn semester, please consider applying through the IGP (C). While Master's program applicants are not required to contact their prospective supervisor in advance, our faculty and graduate students are available to accommodate laboratory tours at any time. The majority of our students come from mechanical engineering backgrounds, both from within and outside this university, but we also welcome students from other academic disciplines.
